I must say I am surprised.I was at L'Oreal Fashion Week for Project Runway in October but not able to say anything because we were all under embargo. They actually showed collections from a number of designers so it was hard to know whose collection was whose, or who the final contestants were.
I instantly fell in love with Lucian Matis' collection of tailored dresses, crochet and whimsical hats. Watching it live, his was by far the stand out in my opinion and I thought it was impeccable and inspiring. Biddell's collection was funky and sexy, but reminded me of things I've seen from other designers, which ironically is what Iman criticized Matis for.
Overall everyone did an amazing job, and it was thrilling to be part of the final episode.

Here's the thing: Lucian copied Dior which Iman was of course familiar with, whereas Biddell's copy seemed to be of Fashion Psychology who always did those hoods... d'ya think Iman knew about them?
Well he didn't exactly copy Dior, Iman just said his stuff looked like things she had seen at Dior.
I actually thought Biddell's stuff looked similar to something you'd see from D Squared. Yes, those hoods have been done a zillion times.
I think they just loved Biddell's personality, his age and the fact that this was his first collection, he's self taught, etc.
Biddell is the man! he totally deserved to win!! he had the best stuff on the runway!!! he is a natural talent and made tons of custom pieces for me when he opened his first shop in fernie, bc. he can make anything. he is incredible. lucien was always sucking up and trying to win the judges approval. biddell never needed to stoop to that level. he is the man!!! ~*
Biddell has a serious attitude problem. Though it's not a popularity contest, it's going to be hard for a guy to make it in a collaborative business when his entire M.O. is to create a toxic atmosphere for other people. He clearly has trouble getting organized. If they were meant to spend the 15 weeks on the collection, making impeccable garments with the level of detail that 15 weeks allows, it's hard to see how he's the winner.
