Some sad news about Liz Claiborne, a women's wear icon and entrepreneur. Today she passed away at the age of 78 from cancer.
Aside from her contributions to fashion, she was also the first woman to have a company listed in the Fortune 500, with Claiborne Inc in 1985.
Thank you Spotty for sharing this news.

Where'd You Get That? Is Now LIVE!!
We're so excited to announce the launch of our new streetfashion podcast, Where'd You Get That?We literally stopped fashionable women on the street to find out where they bought their stuff. The most surprising thing for me was the amount of money these women spend on their bags!! It was a lot of fun to shoot and people were really receptive.
It was a lot of work and we've hardly slept for weeks but we're really excited about the way it turned out.
You can watch it on ChickAdvisor or Alliance Atlantis' Slice. Please add your comments and vote for your favorite looks!

The Old Girl's Club
Yesterday we had the pleasure of meeting the gal behind Lipstick, Powder 'n Paint, Ellen Mirza, who has recently relocated to Toronto. Anything but a beauty snob, Ellen is bubbly, gracious and so much fun! We filled her in on the best places to shop in the city, quaint areas she should check out, and a few favorite restaurants. We also talked about how Toronto is such a great city for getting connected with the beauty and fashion crowd. In the last 9 months since ChickAdvisor launched, we have met so many fabulous women in the media, a number of whom are bloggers, since we are always turning up at the same events. You'd think having all of us together in the same industry would bring the claws out, but ironically, in our experience it has been just the opposite.
We've had the pleasure of getting manicures and invaluable advice from Amber Mac and Maria Hale, (both of whom are AMAZING by the way). We've sipped lattes with Joanna from SweetSpot, martinis with Makeup Junkie, rubbed elbows with geekigirl, final fashion and many others and we're just getting started.
Anyone who believes the myth that women are too catty and competitive to help each other out needs to spend an hour with one of these fabulous women.

Restaurant Review: 7 Numbers
I'd been hearing about this place for a while and finally got a chance to check it out. This is the perfect restaurant to go with a group of friends or have a nice dinner for two on the patio or better yet, come here to be entertained by Mama Rosa and her boisterous staff.
Everything is mismatched and the atmosphere is very laid back. Hearing the Italian waiters shout at each other across the room is part of the fun. You'll also find that they all interact with your table. They aren't territorial about their sections and are all willing to help out or jump into your group photo, which we didn't realise until we looked at our pictures after. It was pretty funny.
The menus are handwritten and have items like "sexy duck leg". The food is delicious, made by Mama Rosa herself. To give you an idea of what Mama is like, read her "intense psychological interview" on their website.
The best way to enjoy 7 Numbers is to share your plates. Everyone order different things, sample everything and come prepared to have fun.

Odd Happenings of Late
- We met Toronto Zanta at the Waterfront, who was only to happy to entertain us with a few of his famous pushups. We're pretty sure he isn't allowed within the city limits of Toronto but anyway...
- We got pooped on by birds at least 5 times during our outdoor shoot. Once on my hair during an interview.
- The camera fell over and had to go in for repairs.
- A number of people commented aloud as they walked by that I was some famous person - the most common guess was that I was Lacey from Corner Gas.
And then today, during a short break as we've been busily getting the new pages ready to display the vidcast, we happened upon this...
